Kalasa

                    Nestled alongside the river Bhadra, the town of Kalasa is affectionately referred to as the temple town in the district of Chikmagalur. Kalasa  got its name from the Sri Kalaseshwara temple, which is devoted to Lord Shiva and is one of the places to see in Kalasa, Chikmagalur. Beautifully set amidst thick jungles and western ghats, the town is blissful throughout the year and is regarded as one of Chikmagalur's best places to visit. One can also combine a Kalasa tour with Horanadu, which is famous for the Annapoorneshwari temple. It is said in some legends that visiting Kalasa bears more religious significance than going to Varanasi.
