Purana Qila In New Delhi

Purana Qila

Old Fort is the English significance of Purana Qila, one of Delhi's most seasoned and significant strongholds. Purana Qila in Delhi, existing in the ongoing structure, was worked by Sher Shah Suri, who is accepted to be the pioneer behind the Sur Empire. He has raised the bastion of Purana Qila alongside a roomy city region around it. In any event, during the passing of 1545, the post was fragmented, and maybe it was finished by Islam Shah, the child of Sher Shah.

The Archeological Survey of India had done a few unearthings in the area and uncovered Painted Gray Ware tracing back to 1000 BCE. This stronghold was viewed as the inward fortification of the city of Din Panah during Humayun's standard. He redesigned it in 1533. After Sher Shah Suri crushed Humayun, he named the stronghold Shergarh and added more designs to the complex. The stronghold and its environmental elements were upgraded to be known as the 6th city of Delhi. In any case, during the segment of India, the post and the adjoining Humayun's burial chamber was going about as the site for exiles.

The camp was utilitarian till 1948. The bulwarks of the post were utilized as the background for some plays later in the 1970s. Tughlaq, Andha Yug, and Sultan Razia were those plays. A short time later, it has been the usual place for theater creations, widespread developments, shows, and so on. There is a day-to-day sound and light show after nightfall at the stronghold regarding the historical backdrop of the seven urban communities of Delhi. Pragati Maidan is the closest metro station to the post.
