Ikkeri

                    Ikkeri is a small historical place located approximately 3km from Shimoga Town in the Sagar Taluk. The chief attraction is the Aghoreshwara Temple, which was constructed by the Keladinayakas. Ikkeri is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is surrounded by a vast open space.This temple is slightly elevated in altitude and can be accessed through a small but excellent granite cubical. The glossy finish makes the glassy image of Nandi at the temple's entrance eyeful. The temple's surroundings are carved in detail, reflecting the masters of yesteryear skill!
