Kodachadri
Kodachadri is the most elevated peak of the Western Ghats, an enchanting mountain with verdant grassy mounds and lofty heights. The site, an enticing tourist spot in Shimoga, is deemed a natural heritage site by the government of Karnataka. Kodachadri, popularly known as the crown jewel of Western Ghats, is a mesmerizing mountain peak with dense, rich, grassy rolls and tall elevations. Kamandalu Falls, known as Shimoga, stands as high as 100m. Declared a natural heritage site under the purview of the Government of Karnataka, Kodachadri is one such picturesque view of Shimoga tourist places. Kodachadri holds the distinction of being the 10th highest peak in the state. It is the tall elevation behind the celebrated temple of Mookambika Devi in the district of Kollur.
Several rare and endemic flora and fauna adorn the peak and its
surrounding forests, making it one of the biodiversity hotspots richly endowed.
Animal species like MalabrLangur, Pied Hornbills, and Indian Rock Python can
