Chavara bhawan

                        A pilgrim's progress to any place is considered complete if he visits the holy place where he had resided, in the ancestral home of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara. Chavara Bhavan, one of Alleppey's famous tourist attractions, is selfless in its mission of serving the people. The resting place of Chavara is also sought after for numerous reasons, including a sea of green paddy fields and serene backwaters of Kerala located in Alleppey. It was constructed around 1805, and in more than two centuries of its existence, it has served the advancement of humanity. It is in a picturesque Kainakary villa, a Thailand-locked key island. Hence, the Bhawan can only be reached by water.
