Karumadi
One of the wonders of Alappuzha tourist places, the Karumady or Karumadi village, is just a few kilometers from Alappuzha or Alleppey. The abode is historically important in developing Buddhism as a religion and perhaps is most famous for its Sri Buddha black granite statue. What makes this statue more beautiful is that the left side of this Sri Buddha Statue must be part of it. Several tourists, especially those who are gravely sick or those who have someone sick, travel to this village and bow down before the idol of Lord Buddha by touching his feet. The idol is said to possess healing powers that can be transferred directly to the healer or victim. The destination boasts several local restaurants that any gourmand would love to try, owing to indigenous spices and the wide availability of various South Indian dishes and cuisines.
Entry fee: None.
