Kerala is gifted with nature's bounty, and the magnificent animal found in large numbers in this part of the country is the elephant. As per Hindu culture, elephants are considered very favorable and are worshipped in many temples all over.

 The Abhayarnyam mini zoo and shelter for motherless wild animals are a part of ecotourism, an initiative raised by the Kerala Government, making it a place to visit in Kochi as this is the venue where you would find several elephants living peacefully in harmony with nature.

The mammoth animals are trained to carry heavy logs from the jungle and other tedious jobs. It also houses a deer park where you may find Sambar deers and spotted deers grazing to glory.

Timings: Tuesday to Sunday 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM, Monday closed.
