Paniyeli Port is a popular trekking spot, and you can scale two trekking routes from here. A 20 km trek from Port to Bhoothathankettu passes through the forest and takes around 6 hours. You can also cross the river from Mahoganythottam at Mulankuzhy, but this one needs permission from the Forest Officials. This route provides an enchanting view of the river and the mangrove forests. You can also spot herds of elephants and other wild animals on the way.
