Ashtamudi Lake

                    Sculpted by Nature herself, it is the most beautiful of Kerala-the Ashtamudi Lake, which has eight branches that join to form one channel and thus converge with the Arabian Sea; therefore, it has become 'Ashtamudi' where Ashta means 'eight' and mudi refers to branch. This Ashtamudi Lake is the second largest in Kerala and one of Kollam's most frequently visited places.Ashtamudi mesmerizes the tourist with its tongue-tied and soft-spoken elegance.
