                    Sculpted by Nature herself, it is the most beautiful of Kerala-the Ashtamudi Lake, which has eight branches that join to form one channel and thus converge with the Arabian Sea; therefore, it has become 'Ashtamudi' where Ashta means 'eight' and mudi refers to branch. This Ashtamudi Lake is the second largest in Kerala and one of Kollam's most frequently visited places.Ashtamudi mesmerizes the tourist with its tongue-tied and soft-spoken elegance. Lush palms and coconut trees decorate the shores of this Lake, thus enhancing the appeal and the experience of being in an alluringly calm, verdant waterway. Ashtamudi Lake ensures its splendid blooming in unison within the Kerala district by offering much to visitors through a houseboat cruise experience.
