Vizhinjam Lighthouse

                    The Vizhinjam Light House is situated in Thiruvananthapuram district, en route to the Kurumkal hill, which rises to 10 km. The work on the lighthouse was finished in 1925. Standing 57 meters above the sea, the 36-meter-tall concrete tower tantalizes people from the height. To reach the tippy top of the tower, 144 twisting stairs and a steel wiggle-walk assist. Tucked in the tower is an opening from which one can pleasantly overlook the lush scenery of the Arabian Sea.That part of the day is romantic as well, with sparkling horizons and the tower in the evenings, apart from pillars of sunsets. It is usually grasped at 5.30 pm and let go at 6 o’clock in the morning. The Vizhinjam Beach, which houses the lighthouse, is part of the famous Kovalam beach. It is delightful to walk or cycle along the lighthouse road. Also, some small, fast food outlets can be found alongside the beach.

How to Reach: Auto rickshaws and taxis can easily reach Vizhinjam Lighthouse from Thiruvananthapuram.

Timings: The Lighthouse shall be open to the public between 1500 And 1800 Hrs.
