Thirunelli Temple
Thirunelli Temple is an Old temple located in Wayanad, on the side of Brahmagiri hills. It is a widely known temple dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu and is widely known all over Kerala and all the other states of India. The temple is also one of the focal points of interest due to its topographical location, which is situated around 900 meters above sea level in a valley encompassed by mountains and forests. Nevertheless, Thirunelli temple is one of Wayanad's most sought-after pilgrim centers and a major religious hub for a large southern Indian population. The term Thirunelli is a combination of words in the local dialect. The word ‘Nelli' refers to the red gooseberry tree.There is also a belief that there are Puranas in which the temple is mentioned. Many legends related to this Thirunelli temple come from ancient Hindu mythology texts.
