Idukki Arch Dam
Idukki Dam is built over the Periyar River in
a gorge between the Kuravan Hills and the Kurathini Hills in Kerala. The huge
and breathtaking dam, rising to 167.68 meters (550 ft), is also among Asia's
top-highest arch dams. Another Idukki tourist attraction is the dam, built by
the Kerala state government in 1975. It has a 780MW issue, and electricity is
drawn from the dam. This destination is like a cake with well-designed
architectural structures, beautiful mountains, greenery, and a calm water body
of 60 sq-km created by three dams of Idukki, Cheruthoni, and Kulamavu to please
the sight of the visitors.
