                    Another place I headed to for some Kanchipuram sightseeing is the Ekambaranatha Temple. Ekambaranatha Temple is the largest temple in Kanchipuram. Built by the Pallava kings in honour of Lord Shiva, the temple was renovated by the Cholas as well as the Rayas. The complex is spread across 20 acres of land and has several interesting features that make it one of the most unique places to visit in Kanchipuram. The 1000 shivalingas that have been carved from a single rock, the thousand pillared halls, and a 3500-year-old mango tree are some of the features here that are an important part of the Kanchipuram sightseeing experience. The 3500-year-old mango tree has 4 separate extensions, which depict the 4 Vedas. And legend has it that the fruits from all the 4 sections taste different even though they are from the same tree.
