Meenmutty Waterfalls
Meenmutty Waterfalls, famous and beautiful, nestles in Wayanad, Kerala, India. It is one of the components of the Western Ghats and a buzzword in nature and trekking as well as adventure. Meenmutty Waterfalls measures its height at 300m and makes up the tallest waterfall in Kerala. There is a trek of around 2 kilometers to reach Meenmutty Waterfalls. This moderate to more difficult trek path takes people through dense forests and rocky terrain tos then provide eye-catching views of the surrounding landscape. The name Meenmutty comes from the Malayalam words Meen, that means fish, and Mutty, that means hole, that refers to the fish-shaped hole at the base of the falls.
Meenmutty waterfall is surrounded by lush green forests, and the gangling roar of falling waters makes this place for more than just silent remembrance. It looks at its best in monsoons when the flow reaches its maximum. Caution is thus suggested, as slippery marshes and strong currents are prone during this time. Meenmutty Waterfalls is a complete package in itself, offering not only a feast for the eyes but also perfect grounds for nature walks and photography, relaxing inside the bounty of nature.
