Dolphin’s Nose

An aged man looks after it. It also has an ashram for people with marginalized status. A ritual of ‘Anna-Dana’ takes place in the temple during ‘Nakshatra’ and ‘Karthigai’ days of every month, when food is distributed among poor people.

Parsons Valley Reservoir

One also needs to acquire a permit from the Forest Department.Parsons Valley Reservoir is part of Parsons Valley, which is largely a forest area and part of Mukurthi National Park. The area surrounding the reservoir is truly magnificent in every sense of the word. If you love strolls amidst vibrant nature, then do visit this place.

Ooty Coffee House

                    As it is in Tamil Nadu, any visit to the beautiful state would not be complete without savoring yummy south Indian cuisine- and the Ooty Coffee House serves that too.                     Sacred to the Todas, the river of Pykara, running along the village of Pykara, is a beautiful place to be. Halashana Waterfalls

                    Farther along, there are sure to be breakfast or evening snacks that always serve the freshest food. The coffee house is located in the main market, making it much easier to find. This Halashana Waterfalls is located inside the private property of Kollamuby Estate, and tourists must obtain prior permission to visit it. To get the perfect view of this Halashana Waterfalls, the best tourist place in Ooty, one should lie flat on one's back. This also ensures safety since the water comes down at great speed

Katary Falls

           Katary Falls is a breathtaking place that will have you enchanted by its beauty and charm. Katary Falls is situated around 10 km away from Coonoor and is the third largest waterfall in the blue hills of Nilgiris. To go near the waterfall, you need to get special permission from the Defence.Once you have it, you can visit this mystical fall and experience its magical view up close. You can reach there by trekking, which is fun and quite a photoshoot. It can give you some mind-blowing photographs to make your friends swoon over.

Elk Falls

                    There are many words to describe the beauty of Elk Falls, such as magnificent, beautiful, mesmerizing, and breathtaking, but none can do justice to how majestic it looks to the naked eye. Apart from its rambling water, these falls offer a grand view of the Echoing Valley of Kookal.The Elk Falls is also known for a European house called Kannerimukku, constructed by a British collector named Sullivan. The house was built in 1819 and is known to be the first British construction in Tamil Nadu. Other attractions near the fall are green tea estates, coffee plantations, and Rangaswamy Peak and Pillar

Laws Falls

                    One of the most popular tourist locations near Ooty, Laws Falls, speaks of charm and beauty in every sense of the word. These enchanting falls ramble down from approximately 180 ft., creating a splendid pool that travellers must jump into at least once.The Laws Falls are named after the late Colonel Fall, who discovered them and also constructed the popular Coonoor Ghat on the banks of the Coonoor River. Some popular nearby attractions of the falls include Sims Park, Lamb's Rock, Dolphin Nose, and Catherine Falls. These falls are truly splendorous.

Masinagudi Jeep Safari

                    Masinagudi, lying on the fringe of Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, is a small town straddling the Moyar River, geographically between Ooty and Theppakadu. The forest department organizes the jeep safari in Masinagudi. These safaris offer adventurous routes on which one can admire the heavenly beauty of nature and wildlife as they collage in their natural surroundings amid undisturbed placid snaps..

Maravakandy Dam

                    There is no better place for wildlife photography than Masinagudi, not that this Maravakandy Dam has any other potential. Built in 1951, the dam is surrounded by greenery and awash in beauty in the early hours.The major source of water supply for Moyar Hydroelectric is Maravakandy Powerhouse, which is just one among the many sites that tourists love to visit in Masinagudi. There is an animal watching tower where you can see breathtaking views and observe wonderful bird and animal species. And so far as visiting a dam is concerned, the only thing that brings all the animals in the area to come here is because there is water here, and if you visit here early in the morning, the chances of coming immediately in front of tiger and elephants are very much high. Its natural beauty makes it even more appealing for the visitors.

Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary

                    Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary is a blessed haven for all and is nestled in the Nilgiri Hill range of Tamil Nadu. The sanctuary showcases nature's biodiversity and vibrancy through various floral and faunal species found here.Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of over 320 kilometers and has become popular due to the mature forests, grassy patches, and scenic beauty surrounding it. Mudumalai has quite vast and diverse wildlife: resident elephants, tigers, leopards, wild boars, and many species of deer. The wildlife sanctuary, which shelters a few reptiles and amphibians, also has more than 260 birds, including the Indian roller and Malabar grey hornbill.Tourists can revel in safaris coupled with guided treks and the enjoyment of watching wildlife in its own habitat.Mudumalai is an area of India that has become extremely interesting because of its function in maintaining endangered species. In addition, Mudumalai is within the conservation reach of a neighboring treasure—the Bandipur National Park.

Sim’S Park

                    Just visit Sim's Park unless you are a visitor to Coonoor. This well-kept botanical garden in Coonoor can easily develop several trees and flowering plants at home. It is one of the prettiest hillsides that one can gaze over. Sitting on some of the rarest exotic species in this colorful, bright garden, along with the children's delight in this place, the temperature varies, with rising peaks of about 30 degrees of heat and dropping 5 degrees. There is a special place reserved for pristine landscapes that offer a pleasant stay to the onlookers. Be cautious not to carry any eatables as it is strictly prohibited here. Photographers are there to click pictures on your behalf, and you can get prints on the spot at reasonable rates. To entertain their visitors, the park authorities have boating facilities.

Time: The Park is open from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm. People generally like to spend 2 hours or more at this Park.

 Price: The entry fee for adults is around 30 INR, while for bringing in your kids, you need to pay a sum of approximately 15 INR. Photography might cost you about 50 INR, while videography might cost about 100 INR.

Heritage Train

                    The heritage train in Coonoor is a slow-motion toy train passing through lush backdrops and bridges that narrate the roller-coaster ride up at high altitudes. A product of the 19th century, this heritage train began as a way to transport tea or coffee.This model train moves at a snail's pace of around 60 km per hour. The Heritage train takes you on a twin track through sprawling tea estates and misty mountain tops.While enjoying your journey through this ancient piece of art, do not ignore watching the fantastic bubbly streams and roaring waterfalls that you're sure to cross.

Time: Heritage Train is functional from early morning 07:00 am to 06:00 pm

Price: The fare for the non-reserved class is 15 INR, the Second Class costs 30 INR, and the First Class is 205 INR.

St. George’S Church

                    A fairly recognized gothic structure in Coonoor is St. George's Church. Its painting collection and beautiful interiors make this Church a center of attraction. During special occasions like regional or national festivals, it looks very cheerful and  vivacious. It is a pilgrimage for fans of architectural beauty and historical constructions. It has an extremely quiet climate for visitors to mingle with God. October and March are best suited for a visit.

Entry fees: There is no entry fee for visiting this Church.

Rallia Dam

                    Rallia Dam is one of the beautiful and serene escapes in Coonoor's Nilgiri. You could trek at least 1 km.Rallia Dam hosts some amazing bird species and gives nice and entertaining views of the natural beauty. Try to get the help of the locals while getting to the last destination because there is not even a single signboard around the place. Take valuables with you because there is some problem regarding theft here, too. The greenery surrounding it makes you fall in love with this place. Don't forget to get homemade chocolates from the locals. You can also spend some time at the Highfield Tree Factory and ride the Heritage Toy train.

Time: While you can come anytime, it would be advisable to start your journey around 08:00 am and complete it by around noon by 02:00 pm. Depending on your trekking speed, it's going to take you some time

Lady Canning’S Seat

                    Another photogenic and trekking spot, especially for history lovers, is Lady Canning's Seat of Coonoor, which is 9km from Coonoor's main spot.Lady Canning’S Seat is one of the oldest estates in Coonoor and offers a fascinating view of the green valleys and mountains around. It offers a wide-angle view of the stretched tea estates and plains on and around Nilgiris.This is one of the most visited places by tourists who love to walk into history. Carry your cameras with you whenever you come. A trekker, at best, would be able to enjoy this place by crossing over various points—Dolphin's Nose, Droog Fort, or even Lamb's Rock.

Time: It is open from Morning 08:00 to Evening 06:00 hrs for visit.

Price: This is a free place to visit.

Highfield Tea Factory

                    Highfield Tea Factory—This fifty-year-old tea factory is just about to open its doors. Highfield Tea Factory uses fresh and tender tea leaves from nearby tea plantations in the Nilgiri mountain ranges.Apart from tea, you could even try their Eucalyptus oil for sale. Some staff here even make some fantastic chocolates for all chocolate lovers. Once you visit this factory, make sure to taste fresh-brewed tea.The tea varieties include red and green. The rainy season is not a good time for visiting this place:

Price: You will pay a nominal sum of 10 INR as your entry fee to the Highfield Tea Factory.

Ketti Valley

                    The Ketti Valley is the so-called Switzerland of South India. Ketti Valley is like a paradise hidden by the Ooty-Coonoor road. India's second biggest inhabited valley offers breathtaking views of the adjacent lush green landscapes and distant blue hills. The surreal setting of this valley is one of the top places to visit in Coonoor to find lost inner peace under the exotic wildlife and gushing waterfalls hidden deep in the woods. It has proved to be a paradise for photographers, making it the place to lay out a mat and enjoy a meaningful family picnic.                     Lamb's Rock is thousands of meters above the nearby sea level and surrounded by mountain ranges. You must take an exciting trek through beautiful landscapes to reach it from Earth.It is the perfect venue for spending time with friends during clear skies, as the surrounding view is unmatched. With a bit of climbing, you can capture awesome moments of Coimbatore plains and estates of tea and coffee.A beautiful hill station in your Lamb's Rock. Bring your good binoculars because this area is high. With this kind of altitude, you should avoid this place during winter.

Wellington

                    Wellington is a great place to visit in South India; it is serene and beautiful. This delightful little military town is famous for its peace, with a few barracks and British bungalows scattered throughout. The streets quieten, making it an ideal retreat, while the silver billboards contrast sharply with the rustic charm of the place.Wellington is also the training center for some Indian Civil Services departments, thus adding to its historical and educational significance.

Visiting Hours: No specific time limit for exploring. However, visiting Wellington Lake only allows entry between 9:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Entry Fees: Provisions Entry fee to Wellington Lake is 10 INR per person, and boating charges an additional 20 INR.

Kattery Park

                    This Kattery Park is 5.5 acres in area and is one of those maintained Places to visit in Coonoor.Kattery Park also has around 25 different species of flowers. Kattery Park is about 7 kilometers from the city center, making this park the perfect escape from the dreariness of regular city life. Contrary to other places in Coonoor flooded with tourists, this place has comparatively fewer congregations of people, which in turn guarantees peace and seclusion from the rest of the world. You can picnic at the park while enjoying the view of the nearby forests, a beautiful water fountain, and the blue mountains of the Nilgiri Hills. In addition to all this, there is also a small canteen famous for mouth-watering food and a children's park. All these together can make a perfect family picnic, which can even be combined with fruit shows held almost every other day at the park.

All Saints Church

                    It is a 163-year-old church established in 1854 and a marvelous example of Anglican Church architecture. Among the oldest tourist places in Coonoor, the interior is adorned with antique wooden pieces and ancient pipe organs. The All Saints Church resembles the typical countryside building of Britain, with added stains and a huge dome-like structure. Huge, tall pine trees and a well-maintained garden surround one part of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of England.
